Pen Llŷn’s third Community Assembly on the Climate was held at Ysgol Botwnnog on Saturday 18th of February.
Following Schools Assemblies which were held in Ysgol Tudweiliog, Pont y Gof, Abererch and Ysgol Foelgron, Mynytho earlier this month, a group of the pupils attended this assembly to share with the members some of the ideas and aspirations that came out of their assemblies.
They shared what local assets are important to them, as well as their ideal future here in the year 2040, when we’ve done everything possible to protect the natural world and reduce our carbon emissions. Following on from this they shared some of their practical ideas of how we might be able to reach this fantastic future.
After this session we had an ideas fair – an opportunity for everyone to hear the ideas that have been developed by various groups in the assembly, and to give feedback or add suggestions. And at the end of the afternoon there was a general plenary to discuss the assembly process and next steps.
The members will now continue to work together to develop these ideas and to cocreate a local Action Plan.
