GwyrddNi: Community Climate Action
GwyrddNi is a community-based, community-led climate action movement that brings people together in five areas of Gwynedd to discuss, share and act locally to tackle climate change.
Whether you want to help out from time to time with community gardening or you’re able get more deeply involved with one of our many projects, get in touch! We are supporting groups to create more vibrant, resilient communities, focusing on areas like energy, transport, housing, food, waste, nature and sharing skills and resources.

More information: GwyrddNi is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund, and is delivered by Gwynedd-based social enterprise DEG in partnership with five other local, community organisations; Partneriaeth Ogwen in Dyffryn Ogwen, Cyd Ynni in Dyffryn Peris, Yr Orsaf in Dyffryn Nantlle, Cwmni Bro in Bro Ffestiniog, and Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw in Pen Llŷn.
In 2022 and 2023 we hosted a series of Community Assemblies on the Climate in these five areas, which led to the creation of Community Climate Action Plans – Click here to see them! You can read more about the Community Assemblies in our report: GwyrddNi – From Assemblies to Action.

Since summer 2023, we have received further funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to bring the ideas from the Action Plans to life.
We have also worked with several local schools. During the first part of the project, we delivered climate workshops and held Assemblies within the schools. The school children were then given the chance to deliver their ideas to the adults’ Climate Assemblies, and several of their ideas have made it into the Action Plans. We’re now working with schools to implement their climate action ideas – read more about our education offering here.
