What is Gwanwyn (Spring) GwyrddNi?
A calendar of events across our five areas (Dyffryn Ogwen, Dyffryn Nantlle , Pen Llŷn, Bro Ffestiniog and Dyffryn Peris) between the 29th of March and the 20th of April.
What kind of activities will be happening?
We have a variety of events being planned. The calendar will be out soon, but as an example, you can expect activities like:
- Taster sessions – fermenting, fixing things, planting seeds, and more
- Conversations and interesting speakers on topics such as land, houses and growing food
- Films on nature, sustainability and creating green communities
- Tours, e.g. moss walks, guided bike trips or a bat walk
- A chance to learn more about the science behind climate change
- Paned i’r Blaned – a chance to speak/practice Welsh in an informal atmosphere
… and much more!

How much will a ticket cost?
Everything that is part of Gwanwyn GwyrddNi will be offered for free as we are funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Will I need to book for activities?
You will be able to turn up to most activities, but some will be offered to a limited number. Everything will be on our Events page soon and details will be there.
What is GwyrddNi?
GwyrddNi is a community-led, community-based movement that acts on climate change locally. In 2022-23, around 50 people from each of the five communities came together for four days of Community Assemblies on the Climate. Local schools were also part of the process, and together each community created a Community Climate Action Plan, which you can see here.
Some of the projects we are currently supporting include growing food locally, repair cafes, retrofitting homes, community renewable energy, bike schemes, creative nature connection projects, mapping local biodiversity, and working alongside schools to support the children’s visions for a better future (see our Projects page)
Now, GwyrddNi supports local groups to bring the ideas from the Action Plans to life, while supporting learning, sharing and action on climate change across the five areas. If you want to get involved, there are many projects eager for support – or you can talk to your local Facilitator about starting something new.
