As part of the Dyffryn Ogwen Community Climate Assembly, one of the ideas the community agreed upon was to create an annual climate festival – a day to bring people and organisations involved in local climate action together with the community and sharing information about the climate crisis and promoting current Dyffryn Ogwen climate solutions.
In May 2024 the Climate Festival was held in Tregarth Centre, with many activities: planting seeds, picking litter, arts and crafts, discovering moss under a microscope, and creating nesting boxes for birds. As well as leading a bike tour on the Lôn Las, Beics Ogwen was on site helping to fix bikes, fill tyres with air, or give people general advice about cycling in the area.
There were also lectures on the science behind climate change, as well as a big climate quiz at the end of the day.
