The first Dyffryn Ogwen Community Assembly on the Climate took place at the Rugby Club yn Bethesda in May 2022.
Fifty people from the area, who have been selected as Assembly members attended the first Assembly to meet and get to know each other, and make a start on the work of co-creating an Action Plan for Dyffryn Ogwen.
During these first sessions the members discussed their hopes and fears about the assembly process and their experience of climate change. We also heard from local people and experts, and started to discuss and map out what resources and projects already exist locally.
Here is the full report from Dyffryn Ogwen’ first Assembly.
On the day a talk was delivered by Professor Gareth Wyn Jones about the reality of climate change today, and some ideas about how to respond to this challenge. You can watch the talk below.
The talk was delivered in Welsh but you can also read transcripts of the talk in English here and Welsh here.
The assemblies members also heard from Meleri Davies and Huw Davies at Partneriaeth Ogwen, to learn more about the organisation’s initatives and projects in the area.
The talk was delivered in welsh but you can also read transcripts of the talk in English here and in Welsh here.
