The Uniform Swap came as an idea from the “Rhannu Stwff a Trwsio” (Sharing Stuff + Repairing) group in Bro Ffestiniog, who are committed to reducing waste and supporting the community to live sustainably.
A Uniform Swap offers a simple but impactful solution: families can exchange school uniforms and ensure that clothes find new homes rather than end up in landfill. Not only does this help reduce waste, but it also gives families the chance to save money on school uniforms. A chance for families to come over for a cup of tea, letting their children play on the craft tables and have their faces painted, while looking through the 300kg of school uniforms that were donated over the past few weeks: on the 20th of July in Blaenau Ffestiniog and the 27th in Trawsfynydd, hundreds of families were able to save money by taking a second hand uniform.
