Dyffryn Ogwen’s Second Community Assembly on the Climate was held in Neuadd Ogwen in October, 2022.
Here is the full report from Dyffryn Ogwen’s second Assembly.

During the first Assembly the members decided that they would like to learn more about the local climate change data, so at the start of this second assembly there was a presentation by Chris Roberts, GwyrddNi’s facilitator in Dyffryn Ogwen, and Arctic Scientist and member of the Assembly, Dr Caroline Coch. You can watch the presentation below.
Following this there was an opportunitiy for everyone to think about what type of place they would like Dyffryn Ogwen to be in 2040, where everything that could possibly be done, has been done. There was then an opportunity to share and discuss our visions.
In the second evening of the second assembly there was a panel discussion with Gruff Wyn from the Zero Net Gwynedd Project, Catrin Wager from Llyfrgell y Petha (Library of things) and Angharad Owen from Bwyd Bendigedig Rhiwlas. Examples of three amazing projects that are already underway in the area that serve to reduce carbon emissions, bring the community closer together and save money. You can watch the panel discussion below.
After this the members were invited to work in groups to think of questions they should be asking of their actions as they start to think of ideas to populate their local Action Plan. For example who will gain, how long will this project last for, and so on.

Dyffryn Ogwen’s third Assembly will be held before Christmas. If you have any questions about anything relating to the Dyffryn Ogwen Assembly, please contact Chris Roberts, GwyrddNi’s Community Facilitator, or chris@ogwen.org
